Alabama Voting Rights Report

Declarations of Alabama citizens sharing their voting stories for The Poverty Law Center.

The weakening of the Voting Rights Act in Shelby County v. Holder made casting a ballot harder for many Alabamians.

This report details the human impact of Alabama’s discriminatory laws, policies, and conduct, the severe burden they impose on voting rights, and the toll they take on the State’s Black voters.

This report was entered into the congressional record to support the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
